September 2010 Visit:

Robert Keenan Winery is an absolute must-do, must-taste on your next trip to the Spring Mountain area of Napa Valley, California. I was greeted by Laura and her assistant in the lodge-like tasting room, and enjoyed a fun, casual tasting of their whites and reds. What I most liked about the tasting besides their incredible, award-winning wines was the fact that the tasting atmosphere is so “down home” and friendly. You won’t find a formal, stuffy tasting room here, but a place where you can take a seat on a comfortable couch or chair and taste and converse with the other tasters and your hosts. And I won’t ever forget the spectacular view of the valley and their solar-powered, sustainable vineyards. Take your GPS, your sense of adventure, and head up the very curvy Spring Mountain Road for one of the best tasting experiences in Napa Valley.

March 2011 Visit:

Robert Keenan Winery remains one of my must-do, must-taste Napa wineries. During this last visit, my boyfriend and I had a private tasting in the “lodge” and were joined by the winery dog. If it weren’t for the display of medals and award-winning wines behind the tasting bar, you’d think you were visiting friends in their comfy mountain home. I love this winery: the stellar wines, the friendly and casual tasting atmosphere, and the incredible scenery.

  1. Keenan also accepts reservations in advance, online via CellarPass.com – great tool to organize your wine tasting visits!
