I visited some friends and family in Asheville, North Carolina this weekend and one of my friends twisted my arm and we ended up at the Asheville Wine Market.  It was an amazing store with wines and beers from all over the world.  While there, we enjoyed a complimentary South African wine tasting and purchased an assortment of six wines, so that we earned a 5% discount and a complimentary six-bottle wine tote.  For a very large and comprehensive wine store, I found the staff to be knowledgeable and very friendly.  Next time I’m in Asheville, I will definitely visit again.

My purchases:  Biltmore Estate Chenin Blanc and 2009 Shelton Vineyards Riesling for a friend who prefers semi-sweet wines, and for myself, 2008 Foris Fly-Over Red and 2006 Trentadue Old Patch Red, both perfect for summer grilling foods like burgers, barbecue, and steak.
