I was graciously invited back to Whitehall Lane Winery, so I made an appointment for their club tasting at 11:00 am on July 12, 2011. I arrived unexpectedly late the night before in San Francisco and contacted the winery that I might be late, but all was well, as I was the only appointment scheduled at 11:00 am. I arrived closer to 11:30 am and was greeted in the tasting room with a glass of their current release 2009 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley. Lisa, the wine club manager, took me on a brief tour on the way to the gorgeous club tasting room. Awaiting me there were their fabulous cheese and charcuterie platter and three of their Cabernet Sauvignons to taste, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Napa Valley; the 2007 Leonardini Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley; and the 2007 Millennium MM Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. It was a wonderful experience, so I highly recommend this tasting. The club tasting is by appointment only at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm daily and is available to club members at no charge and to the public, $25 for the tasting and $12 for the charcuterie platter per person. After the club tasting, I returned to the tasting room and tasted the 2008 Carneros Las Brisas Vineyard Pinot Noir and the 2007 Merlot, Napa Valley. I purchased the 2007 Merlot (90 points, Wine Spectator).
