I’m thrilled to announce you my participation as a student in the 2016 Rhône & Provence Master Level Study & Certificate that will launch today. I am a lifelong student and appreciate the opportunity to share these programs with you.

The first is the Rhône Master-Level Certificate Program, which begins today, Tuesday, April 5. The Provence Master-Level Certificate Program begins Friday, April 8. The programs are endorsed by Inter-Rhône and Wines of Provence and are geared towards wine trade and serious students of wine. Both programs are accessible anywhere online using web-based teaching technology, a study manual, an instructor Q&A forum, and an optional immersion trip to the region itself.

Do you wonder what the Romans saw when they built terraces for the vine in Vienne? What is the philosophy behind the blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre? What are the differences between Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage ? Which appellations are overlooked and represent great value? Course instructors include Masters of Wines, Master Sommeliers, WSET Diploma holders and Certified Wine Educators. The instructor for the Provence program is Elizabeth Gabay, MW,  who has lived and worked in Provence since 2002. Instructors for the Rhône course include:

    Master of Wine, doctorate from Yale Law School, judge, award-wining author and teacher for 10 years with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), the American Sommelier Association and the Institute of Masters of Wine

  1. That’s fantastic, Beth. I was looking at these as well. I would love to do them at some point but as I just did WSET 2, I should probably not spend the money right now. Looking forward to your thoughts on the programs.

    1. I am going to give it a try and write a review of the program. I do really have a budding interest in Rhône varietal wines, so perhaps it was meant to be. 🙂
